"Entrepreneurs of the Future" Final Contest Awards Innovative Ideas in Tripoli

Within the framework of the EU4PSL project, funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France to support the private sector in Libya, the closing ceremony of the third and final edition of the national (Entrepreneurs of the Future) competition was held on the 16th of November 2022. Twelve projects competed after being selected from 120 students who received entrepreneurship training across Libya.

After pitching their projects to the audience and the judging panel during the closing ceremony, three winners were selected:

The first place is for Sarah Sami from the Fab Lab Libya foundation from Benghazi; her project focuses on teaching kids robot making and STEM technology. The second place for Youssef Al-Hudayry from Sebha University; his project is an app for food delivery. And the third place was awarded to Amal Abu Al-Nour from the Hexa Connection organization from Tripoli; her project is an app to help diabetes patients to monitor their health.

Creativity and entrepreneurship skills emerged through this contest, underlining the importance of supporting youth and women entrepreneurs and facilitating the emergence of employability opportunities to optimize the link between the education system and the labour market.

Among the attendees were the Minister of Planning, Mr. Mohamed Al-Zaidani, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Mr. Saleh Al-Ghoul, the Executive Director of the Libyan Industry Union, Mr. Ali Naseer. And from the European Union delegation to Libya, the Head of Operations, Mrs. Lise Pate, and the Programme Manager for private sector development Mrs. Francesca Cuccia.

Among the attendees were also the Country Representative of Expertise France in Libya Mr. Julien Schmitt and his deputy, Mr. Mohamed Al-Aswad and from the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Sweid, And the director of the International Cooperation Office at the Ministry of Planning, Mr. Muhammad Al-Amin, in addition to the Executive Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Network in Libya Mr. Mukhtar Al-Juwaili.
