Promoting the Use of the Euromed Trade Helpdesk Tools Among Economic Institutions in Libya Through the Training of Trainers

Building sustainability and promoting the use of the Euromed Trade Helpdesk in the long term are the goals of the workshop that was held between the 19th and 23rd of September 2022 and focused on enhancing knowledge about the use of the Euromed Trade Helpdesk tools to prepare participants to train others in the various Libyan economic institutions. The training was focused on several topics, including technical knowledge, navigation proficiency, and training skills.

The International Trade Center (ITC) has developed the Euromed Trade Helpdesk to strengthen economic relations between the European Union and the Mediterranean partners. Through this platform, users can get free access to vital trade information such as Libyan market access conditions (tariffs, preferential agreements, official regulations), trade statistics and list of competent authorities on trade, and many more. Libya has been successfully included in this platform joining nine other regional partners in cooperation with the EU4PSL project funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France.

A national network of 9 government agencies and business support organizations, led by the Ministry of Economy and Trade, is working at its full capacity to respond to users' inquiries and provide helpdesk services in the best way.

Participants in this workshop aim to become certified trainers by the International Trade Center ITC after implementing their training proposals within three months of completing this workshop.
