Raising Awareness about Microfinance within Rural and North Africa Banks

Two workshops were held on the 12th and 13th of September 2022 within the EU4PSL project funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France to support business owners in accessing funds by raising Libyan banks' awareness about microfinance tools and benefits. The workshop brought together the Microfinance expert, Mr. Nabil Kesraoui, with a group of heads of departments from the Rural and North Africa banks with the attendance of Expertise France's team.

During the workshop, the attendees discussed ways to develop microcredit services and a mechanism to build the capacities of human resources. The attendees also touched on other topics, such as financial risk management, Islamic banking applications and financial inclusion.

Following this workshop, a training session will be organized in November with both the Rural and North Africa banks to build their capacities in assessing risks for microenterprises.

This activity is a continuation of the EU4PSL project's efforts to work with all banks and financial institutions to raise awareness about microfinance and create funding vehicles to support the private sector and diversify the economy.
