One of the main objectives of the SLEIDSE project is to strengthen the capacities of Libyan business support organizations. Libyan Chambers of Commerce are definitely part of those. On this matter, in the framework of SLEIDSE project, the German development agency GIZ supports Chambers of Commerce deliver better added value services for businesses.
In this context, GIZ selected four pilot Chambers of Commerce across Libyan territory (Benghazi, Misrata, Sebah, Tripoli) for tailor made capacity building training. Following an evaluation of their communication and marketing supports, a training session happened in July 2018 on corporate communication, public relations and social medias.
17 officials including GMs, communication officers and investment managers attended the training session; after a presentation of communication fundamentals, they could train on practical cases to draft impactful language elements, present them to the press and respond to the journalists’ questions. To close the session, a comprehensive presentation on social media management was conducted.
The participants, who demonstrated a great involvement in the training, expressed their strong interest in hands-on communication training and a focus on crisis communication in line with international standards.
This activity was performed within SLEIDSE project, also financed by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France, which aims to support the development of entrepreneurship in Libya.
