On Friday the 2nd of September 2022, in the Tunisian capital - Tunis, an intensive training Bootcamp for 13 faculty members from 10 Libyan universities was concluded in cooperation with the Southern Mediterranean University in Tunisia. The training touched on the theoretical and practical principles and concepts of entrepreneurship so that the trainees could provide best practices when teaching entrepreneurship in Libya.
On the closing day, the trainees presented the commercial projects they had worked on during their training period to learn in interactive ways simulating the curriculum presented to students in their universities. They also received certificates of completion of the training camp from Southern Mediterranean University.
The participants praised the quality of the training provided and its rich content, as it helped them organize their ideas and learn about innovative teaching methods that will help them put the first building block for entrepreneurs in Libya, as they put it.
It is noteworthy that this training follows the first batch that was trained last year and included 34 faculty members from 12 different Libyan universities, as a result of which 8 Libyan universities were able to start teaching entrepreneurship as an accredited course during the two semesters, fall 2021 and spring 2022. More universities are expected to join by the beginning of the new semester.
This Bootcamp comes within the efforts of the EU4PSL program, funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France, to add entrepreneurship module in more Libyan universities, allowing students to acquire entrepreneurial skills before graduation to help them enter the labour market and support the private sector in Libya.
