Libyan women entrepreneurs, together with European and North African women entrepreneurs, participated in a 3-day accelerator workshop held in Tunis on July 2018. This event was organized by SLEIDSE project in collaboration with TheNextWomenTunisie network, a Tunisian organization.
This group of 25 active entrepreneurs coming from Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, France, Italy and the Netherlands could exchange experience and views on how to run successful businesses; they were also exposed to best practices from other business environments and could expand their business networks. They got trained on basic entrepreneurship such as sales, marketing and human resources; they were also advised on how to develop their soft skills and their leadership.
The Head of the Delegation of the EU in Libya, Bettina Muscheidt, underlined that “European Union is proud to support the dreams of young Libyan women who are striving for a better future, using their creativity and sense of duty vis a vis themselves and their families.” This workshop is a remarkable achievement since Libyan women had the opportunity to brainstorm and discuss with their European peers; in achieving such an activity, SLEIDSE, which is implemented by Expertise France and financed by the European Union, strives to promote talented and dynamic women entrepreneurs and support them so that they can play a growing role in Libya’s economic recovery.
This activity was performed within SLEIDSE project, also financed by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France, which aims to support the development of entrepreneurship in Libya.
